General Information

Wolf 359 is a star located in the Earth constellation Leo, and is considered by many tacticians to be the best location by which a coordinated attack or "last ditch" defense of Sol system would be staged.

In 2367, it was the site of a major battle between Starfleet forces and a single Borg cube, resulting in the loss of approximately 11,000 people and 39 starships - a major blow to the local defense fleet. (TNG 4.21 - "The Drumhead")

Impact on the Crew of the USS Excelsior

• Corey Aster lost both parents at Wolf 359. (HF 3.04 - "In Memory Of")
• Jorian Zen also lost people he cared for at Wolf 359. (HF 4.05 - "Crossroads")
• Elizabeth Shelby was on board the USS Enterprise-D, first to spearhead the effort to neutralize or destroy the Borg cube aimed for Earth, then serving as the acting Executive Officer when Captain Jean-Luc Picard was captured. Shortly after the destruction of the Borg cube, she returned to Starfleet Headquarters to participate as a project leader in the program to rebuild the fleet.
