USS Perihelion

USS Perihelion was a Nova-class science vessel under the command of Captain Matt Jillson. It was Captain Jillson's first command.

Operational History

In 2377, the Perihelion was crewed by a green crew that had recently graduated from Starfleet Academy. The Perihelion discovered a quantum singularity with an unknown vessel in orbit while exploring Sector 324. Soon afterward, the crew started to hallucinate and various systems started to fail. By the fourth day, Captain Jillson sent an away team to the vessel, but the crew died before the vessel could escape the phenomenon. A week later, Starfleet Command sent the USS Excelsior to find the missing Perihelion, as it was near its last reported position. The Excelsior discovered the Perihelion transponder signal and arrived at the vessel's location. The Perihelion had multiple hull breaches and all of the vessel's systems were offline. Captain Ian Quincy Knapp sent over an away team to the science vessel. The crew of the Excelsior destroyed the Perihelion to save the universe from a breach by another reality's differing laws of physics. (HF 1.05 - "Perihelion")
