The USS Maverick was a Ranger-class vessel that served during the Dominion War.
Operational History
During the Dominion War, the USS Maverick disappeared while on patrol near the Briar Patch in the Tzelhania system. Her logs, later recovered by Sha'Kev, indicated that she encountered a small force of Dominion and Son'a vessels. She was quickly disabled and her crew captured. The So'na claimed jurisdiction over the vessel and the remaining crew. The Maverick was subsequently abandoned and left adrift in the Patch.
The Maverick was destroyed in 2378 by a fusion bomb transported over to her by Sha'Kev after Lieutenant Commander Robin Lefler had provided him with trilithium resin drawn off the ship's warp core. The bomb created from this resin was later responsible for the destruction of the first Grey Research Facility. (HF 2.04 - "Great Starship Robbery")
