The USS Macross is an Akira-class Federation starship.
Operational History
In 2376, the Macross was transporting personnel to Deep Space 12 and sent a message to rendezvous with the USS Angeles at the station. Vince Bahr was one of the personnel being transported. The Macross was attacked by Tzenkethi warships and her warp core was heavily damaged. The Angeles drove the warships away upon its arrival at the Macross' location. Unable to transport the crew, the Angeles sent the runabout USS Sacramento, to rescue the crew. The Angeles and the Sacramento were able to transport the crew off of the Macross before the ship's warp core breached. (ANG 1.01 - "Return to Duty")
Production Information
- The Macross is named after the long-running Japanese anime series of the same name. This was a nod to the ship's class, the Akira, which is named after a similarly-famous anime film of the 1980's.
- The Macross model used in filming was designed by Cyrille "Tachy" Lefevre and textured by Peter "Pedro" Savin.
