The USS Katana
The USS Katana was a Nova-class starship that participated in Starfleet's first attempt to engage the Grey in peaceful communication. This attempt failed and a major space battle ensued. During this battle, the Katana lost her shields and was under threat of Grey psionic attack. Captain Ian Quincy Knapp of the Excelsior ordered his ship into a defensive position and to extend its shields around the Katana, risking strain on her engines. Unfortunately, the Grey captured the crew of the ship and managed to pilot the vessel itself back into the Briar Patch. (HF 1.03 - "Enemy Unknown, Part 3")
