A transwarp conduit is an artificial construct that can be used to achieve faster-than-light travel, in a similar fashion to a wormhole. Vessels traveling in such conduits can traverse vast distances in a matter of hours, far less time than if the vessel were using standard warp drive. The Borg use this technology extensively.
