Episode Summary

Synopsis

Odyssey has survived her initial battle with the Archeins. But with her crew decimated, and her new captain unsure of himself, the fight for survival has reached a crucial stage, as Odyssey's antimatter stores have been depleted through an emergency pod dump.

When an attempt to obtain replacement supplies takes a turn for the worse, Ro must balance his desire to protect his crew with the knowledge that without fuel, none of them will survive....

Background Information

Memorable Quotes

  • Stadi: Nevin, you can't even think about letting her near the weaponry. It's a classified sys --
T'Lorra: Classified? Next you'll tell me it's against regulations.
Stadi: Well it is! And for all we know you could be making notes to take back to your Tal'Shiar friends, or maybe even the Archein --
T'Lorra: Yes, that's right. I'm selling secrets about this ship to the very enemy that would gladly see me and my home burn. Obviously, Starfleet does not assign rank by intelligence.
Ro: I'm sorry, do I need to be here for this?
  • Vaughan: Sickbay to bridge. What just happened?
Ro: There was an accident on the shuttle. They're probably wounded.
Vaughan: (mutters) Why am I not surprised? Are we trying to get our entire crew killed?
  • Ro: Shouldn't you be in sickbay, Lieutenant?
Stadi: Vaughan released me when I wouldn't cooperate. I'm reporting for duty, sir.
  • Jenaan: The alien vessel is leaving the system. General, I-I don't know how this happened.
Morrigu: They were desperate. They used everything they had. And it worked.
Jenaan: You sound almost admiring, General.
Morrigu: And I am. One ship should've been an easy enough target. But we've learned two things from this encounter.
Jenaan: Yes, General?
Morrigu: We've learned that they are extremely resourceful, and that I should not have underestimated them. I shall not make that mistake again.
Jenaan: Majan Seram will not be pleased.
Morrigu: I shall prepare the report myself.
Jenaan: Yes, General. And what was the second thing we learned?
Morrigu: The ship's name, young one. It is the Odyssey.
