Symbiosis Commission

The Symbiosis Commission is a Trill body that oversees the selection process for hosts and symbionts by means of the Trill Initiate Program. They also care for the symbionts and give counselling for hosts. After an unsuccessful joining between the Dax symbiont and Joran Belar, the Commission made it appear that only one Trill in a thousand was capable of being joined. In fact, nearly half of the population is compatible. ("Equilibrium," DS9)
