Rob Caves is the driving force behind Hidden Frontier Productions, the parent production company for the Hidden Frontier family of fanfilms. He was the Executive Producer of Star Trek: Hidden Frontier (2000-2007), and is the current Executive Producer for Star Trek: Odyssey (2007- ), Star Trek: The Helena Chronicles (2008- ), Star Trek: Federation One (2008- ), and two stand-alone films, Star Trek: Orphans of War (2008) and Star Trek: Operation Beta Shield (2008).

In addition to his producer roles, he also played Ensign Mark Abney in several early episodes of Hidden Frontier.

Mr. Caves attended film school at Loyola Marymount University, graduating in 2000 when Star Trek: Hidden Frontier was in it's first season. The project grew out of video production efforts he started with the fan club, USS Angeles in the Los Angeles area.

Some of Mr. Caves' credits include working as a Production Assistant for Seven Arts Pictures, Stone Stanley Productions, and as a Post Production Assistant on the Fox film, "Behind Enemy Lines". He worked as an junior editor in corporate video production for several years before moving to his current job as staff editor at a major production company.

"Making a Star Trek fanfilm has always been one of my dreams," Caves says, "I used to make videos as a kid with action figures and models on strings, and Hidden Frontier has really been a culmination of those dreams and those of the cast and crew to make this thing come together."

Some of Caves earlier projects can be seen occasionally as special features on the Hidden Frontier website and as sneek peeks in the Hidden Frontier chat room.

Upcoming projects include development and production of an independent science fiction series, entitled Frontier Guard, expected in 2009.
