Rayvan

From Hidden Frontier

Rayvan (Gregory Allen) was an Iconian, a race that had it's homeworld bombarded by the Grey Confederacy. He was a resident of Deep Space 12 and was asked to act as an advisor for the senior staff on the USS Excelsior while on a mission to uncover the identity of a alien race that had been attacking various ships in the Briar Patch. He identified them as the Grey, and provided much-needed intelligence on the races that make up the Confederacy, as well as assistance in combatting them in the Excelsior's first encounter with them. He returned to the station after the completion of the mission and mostly kept to himself until the Grey launched a surprised invasion of Ba'ku.

Determined not to see the beautiful world reduced to the same state as Iconia, Rayvan joined the security teams that leant assistance against the Grey. His efforts were rewarded by the defeat of the Grey, both on- and off-world, but at a cost. Severely wounded in the attack, he died on the planet's surface, beyond even the abilities of the planet's metaphasic radiation to heal.

Captain Knapp lamented that he had been unable to get to know the man better, a feeling probably shared by many officers, as Rayvan had been a very private individual, mostly meditating in the tranquility of his quarters.
