The Quantuam Singularity Drive is a form of propulsion that uses the energy of a black hole to fold space. The drive is theoretical at the Federation's current technology level.
In 2377, an unknown vessel entered our universe from another powered by a quantum singularity drive in which it created an artificial black hole. One of the drive's side effects was the creation of a breach in our space-time continuum which caused systems failures and hallucinations in sentient lifeforms. (HF 1.05 - "Perihelion")
