Mark Abney (Rob Caves) was a human Starfleet officer. He is the cousin of Meredith Abney, a doctor aboard the USS Excelsior.

Starfleet Career
In 2375, Abney held the rank of Ensign, and he was assigned to the USS Devonshire as a flight control officer. During the Battle of Lapolis, Ensign Abney was nearly killed when he wounded by flying debris. (HF 1.01 - "Enemy Unknown, Part 1")
In 2378, Abney witnessed the informal tribunal investigating Captain Ian Quincy Knapp's role in the death of a Founder. (HF 2.03 - "Old Wound")
Current Status
Mark Abney was declared Killed in Action on Stardate 60423.8 while valiantly performing his duties in defense of Federation citizens.

- In an early draft of "Enemy Unknown, Part 1", then-Ensign Abney was supposed to be killed instead of wounded.
