Malena IV is a colony world in the Malena system that is home to the wife and child of the Orion Syndicate pirate captain, Mason. This information was retrieved from the Federation database by Commodore Jennifer Cole when Mason was captured by the USS Independence ("Heroes").

Lieutenant Commander Robin Lefler and Lieutenant Toby Witczak assisted Malena IV's colonists with setting up many of their power systems, just prior to their abduction by Orion Syndicate pirate Sha'kev. ("Great Starship Robbery")
