Lightoller was a Human from the 29th century.
Lightoller stole a powerful Starfleet timeship and went to the year, 1912, in order to kill the ancestors of his political rivals. He took on the guise as the RMS Titanic's first officer and installed a portable tractor beam, which pulled an iceberg into the path of the ship. He also installed a dampening field in an attempt to cover his tracks. He was nearly successful until an away team from the 24th century starship USS Independence discovered his equipment when they travelled through a temporal anomaly produced by a future version of himself. Lightoller was captured and taken to the Independence, where he was questioned by Commander Joseph Johns. Lightoller was able to escape the brig with his timeship. He attacked the Independence and forced the vessel to crash land into the ocean after the Independence attempted to save some passengers from the stricken liner.
After, the Causality arrived to assist the Independence and take possession of the rescued passengers, Lightoller attempted to follow the Causality, but the Independence slowed him down. Eventually, he was able to bring the timeship into the temporal anomaly. However, Independence self-destructed next to the timeship, destroying both vessels and restoring the timeline. (HF 1.04 - "Two Hours")
Production Note
- Though the script for "Two Hours" names Lightoller as Titanic‘s First Officer, the historical Charles Herbert Lightoller was actually Second Officer at the time Titanic sank. He was originally named First Officer but because of the ship's officer reshuffle after Titanic‘s sea trials, Lightoller found himself bumped from First to Second Officer.
