Star Trek: Hidden Frontier (HF) was a fan-made series that ran seven seasons from 2000 to 2007 comprising 50 episodes. The series was set in the Briar Patch, the wild region of space introduced in the film Star Trek: Insurrection. It focused on the starship Excelsior, and its home base, Deep Space 12, as they fended off attacks from a powerful new alien race, the Grey, and mediated disputes between such races as the Tholians, Cardassians, Bajorans, the Son'a and the Breen. This video was produced by volunteers in Southern California; originally as Areakt Pictures for the first four seasons. This association was later amended in favor of the cast and crew receiving credit under their own names.

Background Information

Star Trek: Hidden Frontier premiered in 2000, an offshoot of the fan series Voyages of the USS Angeles (ANG), produced by the Star Trek fan club of that starship name in Southern California. Hidden Frontier inherited the setting, Deep Space 12, and several of the characters from the Angeles series, but quickly went on to establish its own unique identity. Two later HF episodes made use of footage originally shot for Angeles episodes that were never produced.

Hidden Frontier ended its run in Spring 2007 with the exciting concluding episode, 7.08 Its Hour Come Round At Last. The adventures of some of the characters continue in Star Trek: Odyssey and The Helena Chronicles.
