Fleet Captain

A rank. Fleet Captain is the most senior non-Flag Officer rank in Starfleet. It is senior to the line rank of Captain and below the flag rank of Commodore, but is not often granted. It is generally reserved for senior Captains who are charged with commanding installations and/or fleets but for whatever reason are not promoted to the admiralty.
This Starfleet rank is designated on the uniform collar by five gold pips.
