Class Specifications
The Federation mission scout is a type of Federation auxiliary craft in operation during the late 24th century.
The scout is a single-pilot starship with a forward mounted cockpit separated from the rest of the vessel. It carried dual-mounted phaser banks and photon torpedoes. The vessel is accessible through a docking hatch on the ventral hull.
Class History
The following are notable instances in which Federation mission scouts participated:
- In 2376, Lieutenant Commander Dave Mason, Lieutenant Jake Tenenbaum and Counselor Katie Moss were aboard a Federation mission scout when they made first contact with "Joe", saving the planet Ba'ku in the process. (ANG 1.02 - "A Little Night Music")
- Later that year, a Federation mission scout participated in the Battle of Ayre against the Breen. (ANG 1.05 - "The Last of the Iconians")
- In 2378, Lieutenant Commander Robin Lefler and Lieutenants Toby Witczak and Luko were aboard a Federation mission scout, returning from a colony support mission on Malaina IV when they encountered Sha'Kev and his pirate ship. The vessel was left adrift and the logs were erased. The USS Excelsior picked up the abandoned vessel and the vessel was analyzed. HF 2.04 - "Great Starship Robbery")
- In 2380, Admiral Alynna Nechayev, Commander Tolian Naros and Ensigns Andrew Barrett and Jorian Zen were aboard a Federation mission scout when they were intercepted by the stolen USS Columbia. (HF 4.02 - "Piracy of the Noble")
