Farpoint Station
From Hidden Frontier
The original Farpoint Station was a facility built in extremely short time on Deneb IV. The Bandi, the species inhabiting the planet, offered this facility to Starfleet. The Bandi were not a very advanced civilization, and Starfleet was intrigued by how they accomplished this engineering feat.
In 2364, the crew of the USS Enterprise-D learned that the station was in fact a spaceborne entity enslaved by the Bandi. Following its liberation by the Enterprise-D, Captain Jean-Luc Picard worked with the Bandi to schedule construction of a new station to take its place. (TNG - "Encounter at Farpoint")
It can be inferred that this facility was completed sometime between 2364 and 2379.
In 2379, the new Farpoint Station was destroyed during an attack by three Borg cubes. It was able to destroy two of those cubes by using future technology brought back by USS Voyager from the Delta Quadrant. However, it was postulated that as a result of the use of this technology, the Borg have adapted to it - but this has not yet been confirmed. (HF 3.04 - "In Memory Of")
