CBS/Paramount Pictures is the parent company and owner of the Star Trek franchise. Paramount itself is owned by the international media conglomerate, Viacom.
CBS/Paramount has not done anything to prevent continued production of Hidden Frontier shows because, we feel, that we've been very careful to do nothing to cause them to do so. Hidden Frontier Productions is very careful not to infringe upon its copyright and trademarks, make money off of its property, or defame or devalue its property.
Almost all things that we do contains the following statement: "Star Trek® and all associated marks and characters are registered trademarks of CBS/Paramount Pictures. The use of anything related to "Star Trek" is not intended to infringe upon the rights of CBS/Paramount Pictures."
We plan to continue to operate in this mode, and CBS/Paramount appears to be content, at this time, to not feel the need to exercise its copyright and trademark rights under the law.
