Paramount Pictures is the parent company and owner of the Star Trek franchise. Paramount itself is owned by the international media conglomerate, Viacom.
Paramount has elected to not prevent production of Hidden Frontier because we've been very careful to not annoy them enough to make it worth their while. Some of the typical ways to annoy a company are to infringe upon its copyright and trademarks, make money off of its property, or to somehow defame or devalue its property. We have done none of these, and Paramount appears to be content, at this time, not to exercise its rights under the law.
