FAQ: Acquiring Music Used
From Hidden Frontier
Existing Film and Television Soundtracks
There are a variety of ways to obtain copies of the music used in Star Trek: Hidden Frontier:
- Searching your local music stores for the soundtracks is the best way to find all the music that is commercially available.
- You can also search online music stores or other sources on the Internet, such as EBay.
Please keep in mind that some soundtracks used, such as those to Galaxy Quest (the main theme to Star Trek: Hidden Frontier) and Star Trek III: The Search for Spock are no longer in print and/or were produced in small quantity may be difficult to come by.
When at all possible, we will include the soundtrack and artist used in any particular episode on its page. Given the variety of music used, it may not be possible to provide a complete listing.
Original Music
For the original music used in any of Hidden Frontier Productions' shows, you have a few options as well:
- When an episode is released, the composer will often post links to samples or complete soundtracks via the Hidden Frontier forums.
- Check the external website(s) of the composer of the music to see if the music is available there. A complete listing of the composers we have used (and their websites) is located here.
There has been discussion of improving and standardizing the manner in which Hidden Frontier Productions distributes the original music for its productions. If such developments come to fruition, they will be noted on this page, as well as on the Hidden Frontier forums.
Music composed for episodes of our sister production, Star Trek: Intrepid can often be located on the download pages at Intrepid's website.
