Encyclopedia:List of cleanup templates

From Hidden Frontier

Following is a list of the cleanup templates that are employed by Hidden Frontier Wiki. Where moving, merging and deletion is concerned, discussions open for two weeks after the original addition of a movement, merger or deletion tag, where discussion is to take place on the talk page of the article in question. At the end of two weeks, an administrator of the Wiki will make the final decision, and either approve, or deny, the tag request, and make the appropriate changes if required. The act of deleting, moving or merging an article, should not be undertaken by a contributor.

It is preferred that if you notice an article in error or in need of cleanup that you, as a contributor, conduct the cleanup. If you are unable to, however, these tags will at least let other contributors know that the articles in question are in need of attention. When placing a tag, particularly a content tag, please use the reason parameter to give a brief description of the article's problem. Please include a further description of the article's issue on the article's talk page. If no reason parameter is available for the tag in question, a reason included on the talk page will suffice.

PLEASE DO NOT EDIT OR CHANGE THIS ARTICLE.

Content Cleanup

Tag Text that will be shown (and usage notes)
{{Template:Cleanup}}
{{Cleanup||reason=Reason for tag|date=date}}
  • This applies to general problems not addressed by other tags.
  • If there is a specific cleanup tag available, please consider using that tag first, as specific tags help other editors to easily identify problems in an article.
{{Template:Cleanup-section}}
Syntax:{{Cleanup-section||reason=Reason for tag}}
  • Applies only to a specific section of an article.
  • This is also a general problem tag, however, this is intended only to relate to a specific section. As such, please insert only into the relevant section of the article
{{Template:Cleanup-rlpov}}
{{Cleanup-rlpov||reason=Reason for tag}}
  • This tag applies where an article is improperly written from the Real World point of view.
  • In general, articles on the HF wiki should be written from an "In Universe" point of view, with various exceptions. For more information on this, please visit the Real World Articles page.
{{Template:Cleanup-facts}}
{{Cleanup-facts||reason=Reason for tag}}
  • This tag applies where an article has incorrect information, its basis of facts is wrong, or is inaccurate.
{{Template:Cleanup-template}}
{{Cleanup-template||reason=Reason for tag}}
  • This tag applies where an article has an incorrect template, or no template at all, when it should.

Mergers and Moves

Tag Text that will be shown (and usage notes)
{{Template:MoveSTEU}}
  • This tag should be used where an article does not fit with the Hidden Frontier universe and canon, however should be considered for inclusion within the Star Trek: Expanded Universe wikipedia, which accepts all fan created canon with their own rules of inclusion.
  • Contributors should check that the article in question does not already exist on ST:EU before employing this tag. If the content does not exist, this tag is appropriate and should be considered. If the content already exists on ST:EU, and the article has no fit within the Hidden Frontier universe, the article should be tagged under the Articles for Deletion.
{{Template:merge}}
{{merge||other=Page to merge with article}}
  • This tag should be used where two articles contain information that would be better served by being merged into one article and where consolidation of information is in the best interests of the Wiki. Place this at the top of both pages or sections that are to be merged. Use the other page's name as the 'other' parameter. A link will be generated automatically.
  • By default, the discussion is directed to the talk page of the page on which this tag is placed. Optionally, a second parameter can be specified to direct the discussion to another page.
