James Darwin (Cliff Gardner) is a Captain assigned to Deep Space 12. He serves as head of station operations, reporting to both Admiral Knapp and Admiral Nechayev, and usually acts as first officer to Nechayev as well. He has been a member of the starbase's staff since it's initial construction, when he was an Ensign assigned to various survey missions on Ba'ku. He has also commanded the USS Antietam on a variety of assignments as well, or served as a member of her command crew.
