Early Life and Career
Daniel Hunter was born on Luna Colony in 2346 (Terran Calendar). His father was a Merchant Service spacer, and his mother a diplomatic aide.

Family and Personal Life
An explorer at heart, Daniel Hunter is a hands on officer who chafes at inactivity. While a poor delegator, he is an excellent team player. When off-duty he can usually be found in the holodeck, enjoying the ambiance of the Mess Hall, or learning to play the trumpet.
Relationships
Hunter previously served with Commodore Aaron Prentice aboard USS Nokoni and the two remain good friends. After the death of Captain Talath, it is Prentice who promotes Hunter to the Captaincy.
Maintains a friendly rivalry with Elizabeth Shelby, Captain of the USS Excelsior, NCC-77246. The two often play subspace chess, with Hunter routinely losing.
