A rank. Commodore is the first Flag Officer rank in Starfleet. It is most often applied to Commanding Officers aboard capital starships and starbases, as well as others holding official administrative positions within Starfleet.
This Starfleet rank is designated on the uniform collar by a single gold pip in a gold box.
