Borg

From Hidden Frontier

History

Little is known about the actualy history of the Borg race. Near the end of the 23rd century, they assimilated much of the El-Aurian race of the planet El-Aura ("Q Who?," TNG). After the Federation encountered the Borg years before it would have naturally occurred due to interference from a member of the Q Continuum, the Borg attempted to travel to Earth, resulting in the Battle of Wolf 359 in 2367 ("Best of Both Worlds," TNG).

In 2377, the USS Voyager brought back technology from an alternative future and used to aid in their early return from the Delta Quadrant ("End Song," VGR). In 2379, the Voyager technology helped save many, but not all lives during a Borg assault on Farpoint Station located on Deneb IV ("In Memory Of", HF).

Impact of Borg on USS Excelsior Crew

Corey Aster lost both parents at Wolf 359 and had a premonition of the Borg attack on Farpoint Station ("In Memory Of"). Aster was on-board the USS Olympus with Jenna McFarland and Marla Durkos, under the command of Jason Munoz, as they encountered a planet whose inhabitants were subjected by the Q Continuum to being assimilated by the Borg every 28 days.

Tolian Naros's people were spread throughout the galaxy as a result of a Borg assault on his home planet, El-Aura ("Q Who?," TNG). Jorian Zen lost people he cared for at Wolf 359 ("Crossroads"). Elizabeth Shelby was on board the USS Enterprise assisting in the destruction of the Borg cube aimed for Earth after serving at Starfleet Tactical, to which she returned after Wolf 359 to help rebuild the fleet ("Best of Both Worlds," TNG).

Particle 0-1-0

The Borg have come to treat Particle 0-1-0, known to Starfleet as the Omega molecule, with an almost reverence ("The Omega Directive," VGR). The Borg see the Omega molecule as the epitamy of perfection.
