Personal History
One of Admiral Nechayev's guilty pleasures is Bularian canapés.
Starfleet Career
Prior to her service as Commander, Starfleet Ops for the Briar Patch region, Admiral Nechayev was in command of the sector around the Cardassian Demilitarized Zone, within which the Badlands resides. Nechayev played an important role in the signing of the treaty with the Cardassians in 2370. One of her most controversial actions was ordering the relocation of the colonists on Dorvan V after the signing of the treaty with the Cardassians caused a number of Federation colonies to suddenly find themselves in Cardassian territory, and vice versa (TNG 7.20 - "Journey's End"). After this, she was tasked by Starfleet Command to deal with the Maquis problem that came about as a result of the treaty.
In 2378, Admiral Nechayev was assigned to take command of Deep Space 12. Shortly after assuming command, she informed Princess Illiana of Tren'La about the Federation Council's decision to not aid her people. Shortly thereafter, a Grey Confederacy fleet attacked the station and the planet Ba'ku. (HF 2.01 - "Refugees") Admiral Nechayev and Captain Ian Quincy Knapp held a successful peace accord on the station. They celebrated with a glass of Romulan Ale. (HF 2.02 - "Yesterday's Excelsior")
Admiral Nechayev subsequently served on the informal tribunal that investigated the death of a Founder during a mission to test a Dominion-designed telepathic device intended to defend against the Grey. (HF 2.03 - "Old Wound")
Alternate Timeline
When the original USS Excelsior fell through a temporal anomaly, it resulted an in altered history, where the Federation laid waste to the Klingon Empire in revenge for the assassination of the Federation President. The Q, as punishment, led the Federation to the Borg, who then decimated both the Alpha and Beta Quadrants, after which only a handleful of ships remained. This fleet, under the overall command of Admiral Alynna Nechayev.
She wanted to take a vacation on the federation holoship, but the Tzenkethi wanted to find the missing food rations from the fleet's medical frigate. Admiral Nechayev wanted to take the fleet into Borg territory to find dilithium. During an battle with Borg Triangles, the Nechayev's flagship was heavily damaged and assimilated by the Borg. (HF 2.02 - "Yesterday's Excelsior")
Production Notes
- Many of Nechayev's appearences have seen her dressed in a Starfleet Dress Uniform. Only in "Refugees," (HF 2.01) does she wear a regular duty uniform. She resumes wearing a regular duty uniform in "Vigil" (HF 6.05).
- Renee Huberstock has also protrayed Captain Ziminski of the Timeship Causality, and a Son'a Ambassador (both in Season 1).
