From Hidden Frontier
|Full Name:||Alynna Nechayev|
|Previous Assignment:||Commander, Starfleet Operations, Briar Patch region|
One of Admiral Nechayev's guilty pleasures is Bularian canapés.
Prior to her service as Commander, Starfleet Ops for the Briar Patch region, Admiral Nechayev was in command of the sector around the Cardassian Demilitarized Zone, within which the Badlands resides. Nechayev played an important role in the signing of the treaty with the Cardassians in 2370. One of her most controversial actions was ordering the relocation of the colonists on Dorvan V after the signing of the treaty with the Cardassians caused a number of Federation colonies to suddenly find themselves in Cardassian territory, and vice versa (TNG 7.20 - "Journey's End"). After this, she was tasked by Starfleet Command to deal with the Maquis problem that came about as a result of the treaty.
In 2378, Admiral Nechayev was assigned to take command of Deep Space 12. Shortly after assuming command, she informed Princess Illiana of Tren'La about the Federation Council's decision to not aid her people. Shortly thereafter, a Grey Confederacy fleet attacked the station and the planet Ba'ku. (HF 2.01 - "Refugees") Admiral Nechayev and Captain Ian Quincy Knapp held a successful peace accord on the station. They celebrated with a glass of Romulan Ale. (HF 2.02 - "Yesterday's Excelsior")
Admiral Nechayev subsequently served on the informal tribunal that investigated the death of a Founder during a mission to test a Dominion-designed telepathic device intended to defend against the Grey. (HF 2.03 - "Old Wound") She received Ensign Artim Ibanya's report at the metaphasic radiation of Ba'ku from Captain Knapp. (HF 2.06 - "To The Stars") She was notified of by Commander Shelby of the Excelsior responding to a distress call in Grey space. (HF 2.07 - "Fire In The Heart")
She relayed to Captain Knapp and Commander Elizabeth Shelby that Knapp was to be investigated in another Board of Inquiry and that he was relieved of his command. She questioned Knapp's motives and his actions during the incident. She was informed of an impending Grey attack on the system by Illiana. She dispatched reconnaissance probes to the Grey's location. She had a meeting with Shelby and Commodore Jennifer Cole about the impending attack and ordered every battle ready starship to make preparations for the incoming attack. After the probes' data returned to the station, she ordered the fleet to depart the station to meet the Grey fleet. She ordered a small force to stay behind and protect the station. She was adamant about sending the fleet and informed Knapp when he went to her quarters. (HF 2.09 - "Worst Fears, Part 1")
In 2379, she commanded the station against the Grey attack and approved of Knapp's drone ship plan. She was later weary about using the Tren'La fold-ship to trap the battleships in a pocket fold, but Knapp assured her that it will work. She wished Knapp good luck and acknowledged that they work well together under pressure. She, also, will make sure that Traya has been taken care of if something happened to Knapp. (HF 3.01 - "Worst Fears, Part 2") After the Excelsior returned to the station, she had a meeting with Shelby about Knapp's disappearance. She praised Knapp for his actions and said that he saved them all. She did not want Shelby to risk releasing the Grey battleships with her plan to use to Aris in freeing Knapp from the pocket fold. Yet, she wished Shelby good luck. When Shelby and Aris left in a runabout, she told Commander James Darwin to ignore it. She met with Knapp after his rescue and informed him that she cancelled the board. She, also, gave him command of the station, but she will become the sector commander. (HF 3.02 - "Worst Fears, Part 3")
Knapp believed that being on the front lines have helped Nechayev. (HF 3.03 - "Heroes") She attended a meeting with Son'a ambassador O'Faur about the Cardassian shipyard that was built at the edge of the Briar Patch. She led the diplomatic team sent to negotiate between the Cardassians and the Son'a in the contested sector on the Excelsior. Captain Shelby went to her about Commander Tolian Naros and his mission, but Nechayev was ordered to give Naros a lot of leeway. The diplomatic talks broke down between the Cardassians and the Son'a and she tried to re-establish the peace. (HF 3.05 "Modus Operandi")
When the original USS Excelsior fell through a temporal anomaly, it resulted an in altered history, where the Federation laid waste to the Klingon Empire in revenge for the assassination of the Federation President. The Q, as punishment, led the Federation to the Borg, who then decimated both the Alpha and Beta Quadrants, after which only a handleful of ships remained. This fleet, under the overall command of Admiral Alynna Nechayev.
She wanted to take a vacation on the federation holoship, but the Tzenkethi wanted to find the missing food rations from the fleet's medical frigate. Admiral Nechayev wanted to take the fleet into Borg territory to find dilithium. During an battle with Borg Triangles, the Nechayev's flagship was heavily damaged and assimilated by the Borg. (HF 2.02 - "Yesterday's Excelsior")
- Many of Nechayev's appearences have seen her dressed in a Starfleet Dress Uniform. Only in "Refugees," (HF 2.01) does she wear a regular duty uniform. She resumes wearing a regular duty uniform in "Vigil" (HF 6.05).
- Renee Huberstock has also protrayed Captain Ziminski of the Timeship Causality, and a Son'a Ambassador (both in Season 1).
