Star Trek: Hidden Frontier
The events of Hidden Frontier Season 2 occurred during this year.
- Two refugees from Tren'La, Illiana and Aris, arrive at Deep Space 12, offering the Federation their fold drive technology in exchange for assistance in defeating the Grey Confederacy, with whom they have been engaged in a prolonged conflict. The Federation Council declines the Tren'La request for aid. (HF 2.01 - "Refugees")
- The Grey launch an attack on DS12 and Ba'ku. The 12th Fleet, commanded by Captain Ian Quincy Knapp successfully engage the Grey, eventually forcing their withdrawal when a Grey "wing" flown by Aris and Ensign Artim Ibanya jumps into the heart of a Grey battleship, destroying it. A ground force of Grey on Ba'Ku are successfully defeated by Rayvan and a complement of security officers, but Rayvan is ambushed and killed in the encounter. Illiana and Aris decide to remain on DS12. (HF 2.01 - "Refugees")
- Captain Knapp is the subject of an informal inquiry into the death of a Founder during a joint mission to test a Dominion psionic device intended to help combat the Grey. The inquiry concludes that the Founder died a "death by misadventure". (HF 2.03 - "Old Wound")
- Wesley Crusher is transferred from the Excelsior to the Theoretical Propulsion Group to conduct quantum slipstream research. (HF 2.04 - "Great Starship Robbery")
- William Martinez is promoted to Lieutenant Commander and transferred from the USS Excelsior to the Grey Research Facility. (HF 2.04 - "Great Starship Robbery")
- Lieutenant Commander Robin Lefler, along with Lieutenants Toby Witczak and Luko are taken prisoner by the Andorian Sha'Kev, who forces Lefler to extract trilithium from the warp core of the abandoned USS Maverick. Sha'Kev subsequently escaped. Lieutenant Witczak was killed during this encounter. Upon recovering from his injuries, Lieutenant Luko assumed his post as Security Chief aboard the USS Excelsior. (HF 2.04 - "Great Starship Robbery")
- The SS Encke is lost when it crashes into Osiris III after conducting an isolytic scan of the planet. An investigation of the Encke's loss by the USS Excelsior determined that the isolytic scan activated tetrahedrons in orbit of the planet, creating a gravitational field that flung the Encke to its death. The Excelsior crew are prevented from studying the tetrahedrons in-depth owing to the arrival of the Grey, who caused the destruction of one of the devices, leading to the destruction of the planet. (HF 2.05 - "Encke")
- The Starfleet science team assigned to Ba'ku reports on the planet's "healing rings". An obscure element, RJ231, is responsible for regenerating organic DNA and cleaning out free radicals in the bodies of those affected. In its pure form, the element is lethal to organic life; only when diffused through Ba'ku's atmosphere, do its healing effects become apparent. The results of this research were turned over to Starfleet Medical to attempt to develop practical treatments. (HF 2.06 - "To The Stars")
- Lieutenant Luko rescues Captain Knapp's daughter, Traya, from the hands of the Orion Syndicate. The Excelsior subsequently encounters the Grey and is disabled by kamikaze-styled attacks until it is able to affect repairs. (HF 2.07 - "Fire In The Heart")
- Kaz, Illiana's husband, informs Starfleet that the Grey are massing for an attack. (HF 2.09 - "Worst Fears, Part 1")
- Captain Knapp is relieved of command of the Excelsior by Admiral Alynna Nechayev, pending the findings of a Board of Inquiry into his recent actions. Commander Elizabeth Shelby, his first officer, is given command of the Excelsior, which, as part of a task force under command of Commodore Terry, departs DS12 to investigate Kaz's claim of Grey forces massing to attack. (HF 2.09 - "Worst Fears, Part 1")
- Commodore Terry's task force arrives at the location Kaz specified the Grey were massing, only to encounter a token force of ships. Kaz collapses for unknown reasons on the bridge of the Excelsior. Three Grey battleships jump into the Ba'ku system, using fold drive technology, and bracket DS12. (HF 2.09 - "Worst Fears, Part 1")

- Lieutenant Yanis Caed is assigned as the Chief Operations Officer aboard the USS Intrepid.
- Jaden Antos enlists in Starfleet.
